Hey people interested in become better people,

What is a practical way to start forming habits to achieve goals? I will tell you sir/madam. The best technique I’ve learned is Jerry Seinfeld’s “don’t break the chain” technique. As discussed in the previous post, Jerry attributes his success to his devotion to a daily writing habit that made him a great writer and as a result a better comic. Jerry decided that in order to become a great writer he should write at least once a day. So Jerry hung a calendar on his wall and for each day that he completed his writing task he put a red “X” through the day. If he completed it the following day he would “X” that as well.

Jerry- “After a few days you’ll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will grow longer every day. You’ll like seeing that chain, especially when you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is to not break the chain.” Jerry commented that daily routines accumulate into large achievements as a result of “compounding interest”.

If your interested in this technique check out The Daily Practice, which is a site I use to track my chains. I hope this technique helps and best of luck!
